I've been a huge fan of the Rx for several years...in fact, in two separate instances in which I had disputes with two separate books, the Rx -- either directly or indirectly -- helped settle the situation in my favor, so I'm eternally grateful.

Lately though, I've been reading other well-known forums...purely as a lurker at this point...but one can never get enough info. My question is whether all of them are to be trusted...or are considered as solid as the Rx, at least as far as the monitors, Sysops, etc. are concerned.

I've read a lot of bashing of SBR...that they're in cahoots with several books and that their ratings are meaningless. I also seem to recall disputes with either majorwager or gambling911. Obviously, everyone here is going to say that the Rx is the best....and I don't disagree with that assessment. But I'd still like to know whether those other sites are 'bad', unreliable etc...and what prompted that ignominious status.

Confusing, because on different sites you read conflicting information regarding the legitimacy of other sites.

And on top of that, very often the recommended books on one site will coincide with the 'stay away' books on another...who the hell knows who to listen to?

The Gaming Industry forum at Covers is very good for reliable sportsbook information. Of all the resources I use, it has the best, least tainted sportsbook information.

The sponsors at Covers don't even seem interested in the Gaming Industry forum and they don't freak out and start trying to flex their muscles if guys start ranting and complaining. Mods are not on full-time alert, ready to jump in and apply spin or damage control. About the only time we see a mod is when one has a question. The forum just tends to be gamblers talking about what the sportsbooks are really doing. I have gotten to know some individuals there; I know they have no affiliations; we help each other make money. Simple as that.

It's a bit of a Catch-22 situation. It's a quiet forum and I wish more knowledgable people could be attracted to post there, but then if it got more popular the sponsors might take more notice and force the mods into more heavy-handed tactics.

(I would stress: I'm speaking specifically of the Gaming Industry forum - a lot of the other forums at Covers I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.)

Lots of great pics. Aside from that i occasionally go there
to see some useful, interesting & entertaining stuff.

There are a very select group of posters who are worth the read @ Covers.
For the most part it's a bashfest.

I find this forum to be more insightful and more mature. (if that even means anything).

Like most forums the ones with seniority are more in tuned with helping everybody make money with they're picks. it's the newbie's and the college idiots on there that ruin the forum because of the smack talking.

Personally I read alot of what TazCrew/VGPOP/ and a few others have to say.

1-Sports911...national enquirer type getting better all the time

2-SBR...best updated review of sports books found anywhere on the net

3-MAJORWAGER...much more serious a gambling forum with less offbeat topics

4-MADJACKS...lots of squares post there

5-COVERS...Great handicapping info
